Years as a prized enclave of the St. James community

When it comes to healthcare, Here is the short and long of it

At Luxor at Mills Pond, we care for two types of residents: Those going home, and those coming home. That means our focus is on the individual and their specific needs.

If you are here to get better and get back home, we emphasize your recovery in comfort and in style. And if you entrust your loved one in our long-term care, we make this their dignified, comforting home for as long as they need.

Our difference is in our ABC

Amenities

As promised,
Experience
your recovery™

It begins with a beautifully appointed private suite, individually selected during admission to serve your physical abilities for speedy recovery. Flat screen TVs, an onsite beauty salon, a spacious dining hall, and a wealth of other amenities round out our fine facility.

Betterment

Recently renovated,
never changed

While we remain true to our roots, we never stop improving on behalf of our residents. Our facility features a beautiful central courtyard; an all-weather koi pond; enclosed, resident-safe grounds complete with a gazebo and summer furniture; and a delectable gourmet food program.

Community

No one knows
community like
community.

St. James is a precious little oyster of a town, and we like to think of our facility as its pearl. We have served local families since 1992, always staffed by longtime community members, the finest of NY’s doctors, and a rich social work department for emotional wealth.

Even when the patient can leave, The person wants to stay

Residents look back at time spent here as some of their happiest days. Brimming with communal life and personal wellness, this is a place that lends itself to thriving, blossoming and going home.

“
Very well run facility. The caring staff shows their compassion with their patients with top quality and discretion. They are very busy but always respond. We understand this is a nursing facility and would be very selfish to think that we deserve preference in treatment. Thanksgivings dinner was a treat! The piano player and music was tops. This humble staff served from the director all the way down. Wow! Good job mills pond!

“
I first came to Luxor just for short-term rehab, but as time went on, the facility started to feel more like a home. It's where I feel safe. Everyone is so friendly, the staff and the residents. Now I'm transitioning to live here long-term and I couldn't feel better about the decision. I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life in a place where I can call home."

Thank you for giving Mills pond an opportunity to improve. At Mills pond we set the highest bar and expectations for all of the services rendered in our facility. Our wound care team is led by both a physician that specializes in wound care as well as a certified wound care nurse. I can assure all equipment is functioning properly, but to create a more home-like environment residents are encouraged to bring items from home to make them more comfortable during their stay. I appreciate the insight on meals as it is often difficult to reach a general consensus among so many different consumers. Our monthly food committee meeting creates a dialogue between our residents and our highly qualified dietary staff. The recent food tasting with our residents to expand our menu ensures that we meet the dietary needs needs of our residents while making our meals, snacks and desserts as delicious as possible. Thanks again,
-L.Cortes

After two weeks on bed rest in the hospital, I am amazed that my mother has been able to regain her strength and get to better than base-level health. Thanks to her caring therapists and nurses in the rehabilitation department, she is now standing up and walking around independently. The entire staff at Luxor is always extremely helpful and accommodating, and I feel confident enough to transition my mother into the facilities long-term care. I am so relieved to have found a facility that my mother can call her home!

“
As a Luxor employee, I get to see what goes on in front and behind the scenes, and am able to get constant feeback from the residents. The facility excels in its therapy department, in which everyone radiates encouragement and enthusiasm. Recreation thoughtfully organizes a variety of activities for the residents, such as bowling, live entertainment, social events, and bingo, and always makes sure to keep everyone involved. The social workers, nursing department, and administration put so much of their own time into helping the residents and their families. I'm so glad I get to work in a facility where I get to help others along side such a caring staff!

Luxor at Mills pond nursing and rehab has improved so much since being recently purchased.Knowing that the staff you need, including the Administrator and Director of Nursing, are easily accessible is comforting and helps put family members at ease. It's never easy to "shop" for nursing homes for your loved ones but I know just the facility to help you with the transition.
